Trio Appassionato opus 167a (2017)
voor 2 violen en piano

Dit wilde en gepassioneerde werk heeft wellicht invloeden van minimal- of popmuziek, door het voortdurende herhalen van 2 akkoorden: I en VI in D mineur.
De piano herhaalt voortdurend en snelle, stijgende toonladderfiguur, en de violen spelen gepassioneerde melodieën, meestal in parallelle tertsen.
Dit wordt afgewisseld met passages met gebroken akkoorden in de violen.
Het werk is puur diatonisch, net zoals bv. de muziek van Pärt e.a.

This very wild and passionate piece in D minor for piano and 2 violins has influences of minimal- or pop music, in repeating constantly the 2 harmonies: I & VI in D minor.
​The piano repeats constantly a quick ascending tone scale-part and the violins play mostly in parallel thirds passionate melodies.
This is exchanged with parts with broken chords in the violins.
This piece is purely diatonic, like the music of Pärt & others.

Dit werk is (in de eerste versie) vele malen uitgevoerd, samen met de violistes Francisca Simonis (1e vl) en Juliya Belyarevich (vl2).

De première van dit eerste werk, gecomponeerd voor het Inguz-trio, tijdens een 'Winterklanken'-concert op 29 december 2017 in Gorkum had een groot succes.

Met deze dames is het werk op meerdere concerten uitgevoerd, o.a. op 25 augustus in de Grote kerk te Schiedam - zie: https://vimeo.com/286949230  
en bv. 24 november 2018 in de Oud-katholieke kerk te Den Haag.

Later heeft Marc besloten om dit werk als 1e deel te laten dienen voor het 'Paas-trio' opus 167 waarvoor hij nog 2 delen heeft toegevoegd. (Solus/Elegy & Trio Glorioso)
In deze vorm vond het zijn première op 21 april 2018 in Buurt- en Kerkhuis Bethel.

Later is er een 2e versie van de pianopartij gemaakt waarbij in een bepaalde passage (de 2e passage met arpeggio's in de violen) er meer melodie in de piano-partij is toegevoegd.
De 2e versie van dit werk werd op 28 januari 2020 uitgevoerd in het Vreedehuis door de violisten Thomas Patijn en Christiaan ter Veer.
De 3e mp3 is een repetitie-opname van dit concert.

and for example on november 24 2018 in the Old Catholic Church in The Hague.

Later Marc decided to let this work serve as the 1st movement for the 'Easter trio' opus 167 for which he added two more movements. (Solus / Elegy & Trio Glorioso)
In this form, it premiered on April 21, 2018 in neighbourhood- & Church House Bethel.

Later a 2nd version of the piano part was made, in which in a particular passage (the 2nd passage with arpeggios in the violins) more melody was added in the piano part.
The second version of this work was performed on January 28, 2020 in the Vreedehuis by the violinists Thomas Patijn and Christiaan ter Veer.
